Confidentiality: I will not release any information about your therapy or even acknowledge that you are a client of mine unless you authorize me to do so in writing or via a verbal agreement. This includes my speaking with your legal representation or family members. Information regarding clients who are minors and/or required by insurance providers are the exception; I will communicate necessary information regarding treatment as appropriate. I may consult with my clinical supervisor to ensure the highest level of care, and in all conversations I will respect client confidentiality. However, the law states that it is my duty to report any suspected child or elder abuse and/or neglect, report to law enforcement any clients who might be dangerous to themselves or others, and warn the intended victim of a crime.
Fees and Cancellations: Fees are set and agreed upon in advance for 50-minute sessions. Longer sessions are also available for couples and families, if scheduled ahead of time. Full payment is due at the end of each session, unless otherwise arranged and agreed upon. If requested, I will email you an invoice for your records or for insurance reimbursements. I request 48 hours’ notice for cancellations. Otherwise, you will be financially responsible for the time reserved for you. You will be given one exception per year for emergency issues. Brief phone calls are also available to support therapy. If you require extended phone consultations, those sessions will be billed at my regular rate.
Contact Information: You may call or email for scheduling and other items that need brief discussion. I check messages several times a day and usually call or write back within 24 hours, if not before. If you have a life-threatening emergency you will need to call 9-1-1. Please contact me as well and I will follow up on your treatment. If you are feeling the need for more frequent contact for safety reasons we will set that up together. Whenever you call me, please leave me your number even if you are sure I already have it.
